biodiesel
When I first encountered biodiesel, while working for a diesel generator manufacturer in 2000, the industry was virtually non existent. There were very few large producers and no retail outlets selling biodiesel at the pump.

In the last six years the industry has exploded:

  • The National Biodiesel Board lists hundreds of distributors and 75 currently operating large producers.
  • Total consumption of biodiesel in America tripled from 25 million gallons in 2004 to 75 million gallons in 2005 and doubled again to 150 million gallons in 2006.
  • In recent years we have witnessed such milestones as President Bush talking about Biodiesel in his state of the union address, Chrysler announcing that every new diesel Jeep will ship off the line with 5% biodiesel and a mandate that all diesel sold in Minnesota must contain at least 2% biodiesel.
  • The sudden appearance and explosive growth of this new form of alternative energy presents both unrivaled opportunities and risks. Biodiesel is a bleeding edge technology and misinformation and disinformation is bountiful as producers, consumers, distributors and activists struggle to keep up with fast changing standards, legislation and recognized best practices.

Whether you are considering biodiesel for your fleet, are planning a new biodiesel related business, are an activist or are simply looking to become more informed and educated about this exciting new technology Arborus Consulting can help you avoid the pitfalls and ensure your project is a success.
